REM
I don't think a lot of people believed me when I said REM would be playing Utrecht and Amsterdam June 21 and 23. I posted the info to two separate forums a while back, both were discussing the fact that the band never play here. I got little response. Anyway, limited ticket sales (fanclub members only - though the links are easily accessible for all from the Dutch site at least) very sneakily started this morning and through a tip off from my original source I was in time to score tickets to both nights, now June 21 and 22. They're playing Utrecht's Tivoli theatre on the 21st - a really small club (800 to 1,000) . It's going to be something!
Yeah, tickets went on sale this morning, but only fan club people were notified, and asked to keep reasonably quiet about it (when mailing me the URL, my mate made me PROMISE not to blog it). The other dates are London Brixton Academy, June 24/25, available through Ticketmaster, and that's all I'm saying - except to add that WOO! I'M GOING! I'M GOING TO SEE REM AT BRIXTON! YAY!

Didn't know it was THAT secretive. I only told a handful of people this morning anyway, and only one made use of it afaik. :-) Anyway, I can't thank the guy who tipped me off enough for this (crew member) - I've been in touch with him for a while (for non REM related things) and hadn't even thought of the possibility he'd be working for them on this tour. I just casually moaned about REM not having played Holland properly since 87 and he said 'ahem... you didn't get this from me.' What a year this is. Interpol, Massive Attack, Peter Gabriel (this Friday), Nick Cave... Going to see Mogwai too and possibly Arab Strap.
Oh, you saw Interpol too? Weren't they fantastic? And as for Nick Cave, who I have still never seen, all I can say is...*gnash*.
Interpol were *very* sexy. And better than Ladytron, who I saw a few days before Interpol. Nick Cave... you haven't seen the Nick? How is that possible, he tours all the bloody time! :-)
