Eurovision, baby.

Chinese on the table, iBook on the couch. Prol, a bit poorly, in her jammies. Time for the Eurovision, baby. Iceland, Austria, Ireland... haven't heard a decent song yet. Perfect.

Is it me or can NOBODY sing this year? The UK entry was painful, followed by the Ukraine bloke... my god, that's bad.

While I don't like the Dutch entry, Esther Hart's voice, at least she can sing. Best so far anyway.

Latvia: "Life is a mystery, like a perfect harmony."

Quite.

Belgium.

Someone PLEASE teach these people to keep in tune.

Estonia.

Fun little tune - not a Eurovision song.

Turkey, Russia and Belgium are in the lead so far. Europe has lost its collective marbles.

Cyprus giving twelve points to Greece, it is Eurovision night alright.

But why is everybody talking about Turkey's belly dancing? Those girls had no bellies, it was more tittie wiggling they did.

prolific said:

heee.

Happy for Turkey - passable tune, I always like the eastern melodies anyway.

Glad Belgium didn't win with that piece of new age crap.

Belgium first had to remove a singer with nazi sympathies from the group as well. There's always something dubious going on in the Belgian folk world. Too much Blut und Boden.

I picked Turkey as my favourite, to be honest.

It would have been interesting if t.A.T.u. had won, but the funniest part was the UK finishing last due to 3 things:
1. awful song
2. horrifically sung
3. by America's buddies
We didn't even have to suffer relegation, as we are apparently major contributors to the EBU! And they say capitalism doesn't pay.... ;)

t.A.T.u. were fucking awful. As was the UK entry. As were most of the entries. Not a good year for songs or singers.

(oh, different Stuart!)

I still don't understand why Austria got so many points. It was the typical 'null points' performance.

No problem, Caroline - would have to agree with you!
Not too sure why Austria got as many points as they did - perhaps the European public REALISED that they quite clearly did NOT want to win, and thought that they'd spoil the Austrian plan! :D

Indeed. Forgettable, most of it. But Turkey seemed like the best of a bad bunch. Enjoyed it all anyway.

Alas we are deprived of this spectacle here...sounds like fun.

Bored in the U.S.A.

The USA could do this with all their states. Up next, Montana!
