Oh Annie, dreamboat Annie... With Sinead 'gone' I turn to Annie Lennox for a female music fix. "Bare" resides somewhere between O'Connor and Sade, which is quite a lovely place to be.
Must get on and write my review of this. I find it patchy and occasionally a bit too easy-listening, but when it's good it's great. I love that line "the sound of one hand clapping... as it's tearing you apart."
In the end it was a little too Sade and too little Sinead for me - I went through the lyrics too to find something that meant something to me, but couldn't. Still, there's some lovely tunes there.
Annie proves with this record that she's still one of the best female vocalists alive. She has the ability to sound warm while technically singing perfectly.
