Back in... 1999 over a pint in a pub in Dublin, Derek told me enthousiastically about this domain he had, ephemera.org, but didn't know what to do with yet. Looks like he's put it to good use now: Ephemera: Photos by Derek Powazek. Check out the comment pop-ups, they're pretty.

Ah, the curse of the domain name bought on a whim but so far unused. One day, I *will* do something with ageofdiscontent.org

Man, I have had that domain for an embarrassingly long time. Since the nineties, even! Thanks for the link, Caz.

I met Derek in 1999 for the first time, when he was in Dublin. So I guess he's been talking about doing that site since last century ;-)

Was it 1999? I met you for the first time that same week, didn't I?

As far as I remember, we didn't meet until the following year...April 2000 I think?

I think I met you a couple of days before Derek did.

I'm pretty sure it was 2000 we met. E was with you, and I realised that I'd met her before, but didn't know you knew each other till we met ourselves! At least, that's the impression my weblog archives give me ;-)

OK I must be confused by the fact that Derek was going to meet you, though he hardly knew you at the time and I think we'd already e-mailed or something, so I knew more about you than Derek. Something to that effect.
