Let’s get lost

“Does it get easier?”

“No. Yes. It gets easier.”

If you haven’t seen it, do.

  1. I so cannot wait to see this film. It’s released on dvd the 3rd of feb in Canada, likely in the U.S. as well…

  2. It’s not been released to the screen here in Holland yet, I’m contemplating going to see it despite having downloaded the film. There’s one or two cringe-worthy jokes (that have a lot of people screaming ‘racist’), but for the rest it’s just perfect.

  3. Joh! I saw it in Germany, dubbed in German – and it added to the alien experience. First and likely the last time that nachsynchronisierung actually makes a movie more enjoyable… it sure helped that the movie’s lovingly visual.

Didn’t like Bill Murray though. I never felt he was doing more than just acting, he never became. A real character actor would have made this movie much better.

  5. I’ve never been a fan of Bill Murray, but I enjoyed seeing a more quiet side to him. The one thing that bugged me was that he never once gave me the impression that he was what the character is supposed to be, a big name Hollywood actor. It was more… ‘Bill Murray being quiet’. So in a sense, yes, that’s right, he didn’t ‘become’.

  6. Apologies for the errors on the comments script. MT’s a little hosed after my latest redesign – too many entries, too much of a load on the server when MT’S rebuilding.

  7. Loved it. Saw it twice. Will order DVD from US on day of release.

I’m intrigued to see how many layers this movie has as it survived the second viewing well.

  8. I was considering ordering the DVD as well – it doesn’t seem to have too many extra’s though.

  9. i saw this when it came out here in the u.s., with a woman that had recently arrived from tokyo. she was newly married after a whirlwind romance, and had been relocated to the cornfields of nebraska almost as soon as the ceremony was over. it was a perfect experience, seeing that movie with that woman.

she wasn’t offended by anything in the movie — and we discussed that possibility both before and after. what jokes are people calling “racist”?

  10. Mostly the ‘lip my stockings’ bit.

  11. partij leuk en goed , Sofia! Virgin Suicides was is ook een prachtige film.

  12. Kyoko laughed *really* hard during the “lip my stockings” scene. I was worried about that part beforehand, but had since forgotten it…

    Loved the soundtrack.

  13. I loved this film and laughed very loudly at the stocking-scene. I think Murray actually did make a good impression of Bob, a “former big star” on his way down. He knows it and has nothing more to say about it either.

It’s in my Top 10 – I watched it late at around 2 in the morning – the imsomnia hour.

  14. Yeeeahd, it’s csool
