So who's in for a weekend in Brussels?

A Virgin Prunes Matinee at Ancienne Belgique.

100 minutes of unaired Virgin Prunes footage in total. Live DJ set by Gav and Guggi. Heaven is such a nice place.

Yes, I will subject both audience and talent to the killer lens I hope to have by then.

now if we could only get them to bring this 'show' to New York, and you and Hg to follow, then I'd be really happy. Sounds like it will be amazing.

The question is...why the f**k aren't the doing this in Dublin, where they're from?!

Caroline said:

Because nobody in Dublin wants to organise it since nobody is interested. It makes sense it's in Belgium - over the last 15 years interest in Gavin hasn't waned over there.

(This isn't something Mute or EMI thought up. This is the art director of the venue in Brussels who has been trying to organise *something* with Gavin for the last year and a half. I tried to mediate for him and got notwhere. Now his persistance has paid off, because there's finally *something* to promote.)

I can't believe no one in Dublin would want to do it. Bizarre. And sad as well.

I think in Dublin people are mostly interested in Gavin as a 'celebrity' or rather 'that cunt who's friends with Bono'. I don't meet very many people who are interested on an artistic level. They've all got an opinion, but nobody's actually heard his work. And some of the spite and hatred (especially in contemporaries, i.e. the 40+ males) is disturbing.

tom cosgrave said:

I suppose that's true, but he is known as a singer here, not just as Bono's mate.

And besides, if he did a show here, he'd make his Dublin fans happy :-)

Yay. Everything is booked. Gots tickets, gots hotel. September and October are always the best months :-)
