With my track record…

I ordered a laptop from Dell yesterday. Two hours after I ordered, I was reading the specs again and realised I’d foolishly got the Dutch version of XP.

It annoys me no end that these sellers assume that since you’re ordering through their Dutch site, you’ll want Dutch software too. (There was no option to tick ´’UK’)

So I rang customer service and a very nice gentleman (who preferred an English OS himself) traced the order and changed the details.

Tracking my order on the Dell site now, the specs still say the computer will have a Dutch OS.

Who wants to bet I’ll get the wrong laptop?

(And yeah, I blame Hg for the order in the first place. Apart from the usual gadget envy, I probably wouldn’t have seen Dell’s offer if I hadn’t had checked out his on the site.)

PHEW

Thanks for the warning, I was just making my way round the blogs when I saw this – I won’t bother with Hg then, my bank account can’t handle it!!

Ohh and the geek in me wants to know model and specs and stuff??

I bought their cheapest, it’s all I can ‘afford’ right now (and my dad had to lend me the money so I can pay it off over a few months.) It’s a Dell Inspiron 1200. It’ll do for blogging and stuff and watching DVDs on the balcony. If it EVER gets to be summer. Brrrr.

Gordon, you can run but you can’t hide. I’m sending psychic shopaholic vibes to you via this very comment box…

Dammit… I caved as far as checking out the options… DAMN YOU Hg!!

The compbined forces of hydragenic.com and prolific.org have got me looking at laptops on the Dell site. I want a laptop, I can’t afford one, but I may well give in to temptation nonetheless. I hate you all. :-)

And while you’re on the Dell site, you can even pop one of those Creative Zen MP3 players into your virtual shopping basket.

Have a nice day!
