“The Fall are on Jools Holland’s show next week. Mark E Smith is the only artist in the history of the show to have a clause in his contract inserted to state that Jools will not play boogie-woogie piano over any of his songs.”
That did make me smile more than a little bit when I read that today.

Yeah, but come on, we don’t seriously expect Jools to be able to resist, do we? He’ll no doubt search high and low and find a hitherto unspotted honky-tonk element in The Fall’s music. Sigh.
